Gabby’s Dollhouse

My daughter was so excited to play with this toy. My 10 year old helped me assemble the pieces. It isn’t hard, just  lots of pieces.

We love the music! My daughter dances to it and knows her favorite already even though we’ve never watched the Netflix series. The drop chute is fun and the accessories are so cute. She loves the potty, probably because she’s potty training and is fun to see others do it too.

My only complaint is the back has cardboard inserts. They are flimsy, don’t stay in place, and get in the way of the elevator, but if you leave them out, items can fall out the back.

All the same, we love it!

Niagara chocolates

Chocolate doesn’t fix my problems but it sure makes them feel more manageable. Really good chocolate is even better! Niagara has a great chocolate! The milk chocolate is delicious but so are the filled ones. My favorite filled ones are peanut butter and caramel.

We had a terrific time sharing them with friends at a crepe and game night. The taste testing was definitely a favorite part!

Zombie Chase

This game was similar to Chutes and Ladders but with the added twist of the player possibly turning into a zombie and switching teams. Very fun and easy to play.

Reign reminds me of the theme of Fortnite but not on a screen!

I was super excited to hand family come play!

Pixicade

Check out Pixicade! It’s an app that allows you to create your own video game. Draw the picture, scan it on the app, play! I like that you can edit aspects of your drawn game in app if it turns out you’ve drawn something that doesn’t play out well. There are so many styles of games. I haven’t even excluded them all yet! Super fun!

South beach bubbles

I have always loved bubbles. I remember blowing them as a child and making them stick to the wet cement. I admire the rainbow colors in their spheres. As an adult I still love them and know my kids do too, even though they spill the bottles more than they blow. I’ve come to love bubble machines too because it’s so simple! Now I love South Beach Bubbles because giant bubbles are the best!! These wands are easy to use and create the most beautiful shapes!! It’s easy to mix the solution and easy to use the wands. Even Parley could do it! We shared with friends too! Thanks #southbeachbubbles and #tryazon for the fun!

Deflecto

Lately I'm super overwhelmed by the mess in my house. I'm trying to get everyone on board with better organization. I'm super excited about Deflecto products because they make it easy. We immediately put our markers in the marker accordion container. I'm searching for the perfect thing for our our other items. I'm thinking about crafting stuff, but those are already contained (though nowhere near as nicely, but it fits in the space they're at) or tools! I'm really excited about the prospect of the latter, I think it will work fabulously. I love that the cart can hook together and the clasps keep my toddler out. (She just drew permanent marker all over the couch cushion, so they really will come in handy.)

Really organization is just the one step. I'm also working on decluttering. With less items to organzie/make a mess with, I'll have less stress thinking about all I need to clean up.

Are you hoping on this bandwagon too?

Spin Master Family Game Night

I've learned to appreciate all those moments I get to spend time with my family. Maybe more so with the restrictions of covid-19. This time was no exception. I gathered with my family to watch General Conference, eat (traditional waffles among other things), and play! We got to try out three new games from Spin Master: Headbanz, Grouch Couch, and Upwords.

So. Much. Fun!

Our favorite was Headbanz. I've played a home-made version of this game before and thought it would be old hat. But the slight change in rules brought a whole new dimension to the game I hadn't expected. Really, it was the timer that changed the pace and craziness of it all. We all wanted to go fast, but your brain panics and can slow down instead. We played several times and laughed hard at times when the yes or no questions that were asked didn't really have a yes or no answer. This game isn't just for kids! I loved that they included some sample questions when you felt stuck. There are actual headbands you can wear to hold the cards, but since Parley enjoyed using them for dress up, we just help the card to our forehead. I think it would have been hard to insert a new card during a timed event anyway.

My kids loved Grouch Couch the best. At first they were just playing their own version, but we read the rules together and they loved it that way too. You're trying to collect tokens that the couch will spit out at you. One option on your turn is after rolling the vacuum cleaner on the di, you can take tokens away from other players. Uh oh, this is where I thought our friendly game would take a turn for the worst. Could me children take without someone getting mad? Magically, yes! They played it several times!! There's not as much strategy involved with this one, but it's still fun in it's simplicit!

Upwords is a twist on the classic game of Scrabble. It's fun to build new words on top of old ones.

Overall, it was a great day. But then there were scotcheroos, so what could be bad about it?
