Halloween with "great" nephews and niece

These kids are not "my/Jeremy's" niece and nephews, they are great-niece and great-nephews. Makes me feel old in a way even though it has nothing to do with me.

This was just prior to Halloween, thus the costumes.

A frog about to leap.

A princess looking for true love and a good twirl in her dress.

 His FAVORITE character, Spongebob.

And a silly horse.

Baby Tenley

Secret confession: sometimes I watch "The Bachelor." I think the drama that girls create is hilarious, as long as it isn't in my own life, and there is ALWAYS drama on this show. Most seasons I only see a few episodes here or there, but I used to watch more diligently. A few seasons ago they had this sweet girl named Tenley. I loved the girl, and I loved the name. Jeremy's nephew and his wife had a new baby girl last October and I was super excited they decided to name her Tenley!

I never seem to manage all the cute poses I want to do with newborns, but all the same, newborns are adorable, so it isn't too hard to get adorable shots no matter the pose or angle.

The Lahrs

I had no idea what I was getting into when I agreed to do family pictures for the Lahrs. Their boy, Reid, is only a few months older than my boy Jackson, and knowing how Jackson can't hold still, I should have figured the same for Reid. It wasn't the typical "sit down and get a family photo" kind of day, but we had fun. We chased leaves, kicked soccer balls, played on swings, slides, and more.

Garrett Senior Photos at Wheeler Farm

I was lucky enough to take pictures with Garrett because I used to teach with his sister-in-law. She was kind enough to refer me. They drove down from Rock Springs, WY to do it. I asked if there were any instruments or other talents that he was interested in that he'd like to display in a picture. "No, no," says his mom, "he doesn't do much." But this is what he came with in the end. I guess the boy likes Assassin's Creed. A lot.

The Collards and Once in Awhile I Remember I Have a Blog

That's right. After months of inactivity, I've decided that I can return to posting pictures. Old pictures.

Kristie Collard is my "old friend," but I like her. She and I decided instead of money exchanging for pictures that she would provide me with tickets to a Jazz game when they were playing Jimmer. I guess they were really playing the Sacramento Kings, but we both know I went for Jimmer.

With a few changes in our original plans, we ended up at Gardner Village. Even though it was near Halloween time, we managed to get some pictures that didn't look too scary.

Enjoy!

Remember Bonnie? Just so happens that her husband's parents are divorce. I was happy to spend time with the other half of the family (not that I was happy for discord in their family years ago). It was fun to see familiar faces with some of the older children, and meet some new people too.

We met at Memory Grove, along with every other family, photographer, and their dog (literally, the dogs were there too). We jumped around for our spot among other families and here are the results!

I had to laugh at the similarities between mother and daughter. Check out the next two photos, tongues and all.

This last photo was my sweet surprise. Jessi is definitely a photogenic girl, that's not the surprising part. I almost discarded this photo. The original was not cropped like this. It was bigger, too much space around her, and it just felt awkward. I'm glad I played around with it a little more because it's now one of my favorites of the day.

Thanks again, Bonnie, for asking and trusting me to spend time with your family!

U.S. Presidents and Baby Nixon

We picked a great day for baby photos. Other baby photos I've done, the baby was less cooperative. Not Nixon. He slept most the time and let us move him around whichever way, right up until the end.

His mom and I laughed that we both ended up naming our babies with last names of U.S. Presidents. I think they're both pretty stellar and bound for great things!

(I remember that yellow stripe on the diaper. When it changed colors I was so quick to change his diaper. Now he goes awhile.)

Jackson came with me, and he did pretty well with the baby too.
